Swann offers you three levels of cover so you can opt for the solution that best fits you and the way you use your car.
Full Cover provides a wide range of benefits, automatic extensions and protection for you and your car.
Laid Up Cover is designed to protect your car while it’s garaged, stored or under restoration.
Third Party Only cover provides some protection against uninsured drivers and covers your legal liability for damage or injury to others.
The amount your classic car is insured for is the value that you and Swann both agree on when you take out your insurance. Provided your car is in the same condition when something happens that leads to a claim, you have the assurance of knowing that this is the total value of your cover in the event of a total loss — so no nasty surprises.
In the event of an accepted claim where the damage to your car is considered repairable, we’ll either arrange to repair the vehicle or pay you the cost of the repairs as estimated by our assessor. That way you get to choose who works on your car.
On acceptance of a valid claim, our cover provides up to $20,000,000 protection for your personal liability and legal costs if you accidentally damage someone else’s property or injure someone while you’re driving your car.
We’ll cover modifications to your car provided you’d indicated them on your Policy proposal and/or advised us of them at the annual renewal of the policy - and we’d agreed to cover them.
If you have purchased full cover, you won’t pay an excess if the uninsured driver of another vehicle causes loss that is covered by this policy, provided you:
Can prove they were completely at fault; and
Can give us the correct registration number of their vehicle, or information we need to positively identify the driver (including name and address), and provide us reasonable help to recover your claim from the driver of the other vehicle, or from its owner.
If your car has Full Cover with us then you’ll enjoy a range of extra benefits that will help make your motoring safer and hassle-free.
For example; if your car can’t be driven because of an event covered by the policy, then we’ll reimburse the costs for alternative transport, emergency repairs and emergency overnight accommodation - up to the amounts specified in the policy.
Where a claim is successful, we’ll also cover the cost of towing your car to the nearest repairer or safe place if the vehicle can’t be driven following an accidental loss covered by this policy.
Cover also includes Roadside Assistance in the event of a breakdown. This provides a nominated amount towards towing costs, help for flat battery, lost and locked-in keys, a flat tyre, plus much more. (Terms and Conditions apply, so please refer to the policy for details).
Windscreens and window cover: no excess applies to a claim that is solely for accidental loss to windscreens, windows, sun roofs, or driving lights of the vehicle.
You can choose to add more extensions to your Full Cover policy at no extra cost to cover activities such as classic or club racing, wedding or chauffeur-driven hire or your participation in a professional driving cours
